New Year’s Eve

I had the honor of doing the makeup for Leslie on New Year’s Eve. I did the makeup for her sister’s wedding just last year so was more than happy to help her out with her own. I absolutely love Leslie and her mom and sister! They are some of the sweetest people I have met! The fabulous Martha Ann did her hair and the ever so fabulous husband and wife team Joshua Aaron Photography captured her priceless photos! My old Roomie

I had the honor of getting my old room mate Mel dolled up for her wedding in October! We had always talked about the “When” and so when it finally “Came” I couldn’t have been happier to be her go to girl for makeup! This is the third wedding that I have done for their family and this to me was the most special because it was HER big day! Mel deserves all the happiness in the world and her super handsome husband Dustin is the perfect Man to be by her side! Her photographers are husband and wife team Landon Jacob Productions! I have been working very hard on this and am so very excited that the time is finally here! I am starting off small and will be launching everything in phases. Near and Dear to my heart

Back in August my husband and I traveled 3 hours to upstate SC to not only have me do the makeup for a dear friend but also attend it. You see, Kay is the sister of my best friend Lydia that passed away in 2003. I wouldn’t miss her wedding for the world. I’ve been blessed to remain close to Lydia’s family since her passing and it’s really helped me cope. I miss her more each day but being there at Kay’s beautiful wedding, I truly felt her there. The weather was simply amazing, the view was breathtaking and the company was family! The wind made me want to close my eyes and smile because I felt like it was Lydia smiling down on us. Kay had all her girls wear angel Necklaces while she wore Lydia’s class ring around her neck and there was the most beautiful poem next to her cake reminding all of us that Lydia may be gone for now but she is not forgotten! I can not wait to see her again! Kay was married at Chattooga Belle Farm in Long Creek, SC which has the most incredible view of the Blue Ridge Mountains! I am dying to go back! Her photographer was the amazing Olivia Griffin Photography and She captured Kay so beautifully! I love every single image! When I go back and look at these photos, i’m reminded of what a truly beautiful day it was and i’m so happy that Kay has found her special someone! Welcome to the family Kenny! :)

I recently did a photo shoot for a friend. Actually I used to baby sit her. Can we say I FEEL OLD! :) You may recognize her from the previous post but we wanted to get some natural head shots as well for her portfolio. I decided on the “less is more” makeup as she is already so beautiful I didn’t want to over power her. So after makeup off we went to shoot. This particular shoot was our big fall shoot and we were honored to have Ramene Ashoori from Myrtle Beach, SC drive all the way to columbia just for us! His work is stunning and he is a pleasure to work with! I of course did all the makeup while the fabulous Carmen Jordan styled our amazing models! New & exciting things to come. I can not thank Rita with CoffeeShop Designs enough for doing such a stellar job on my new blog design! She took what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. Along with my new design comes some new changes. If you notice to the top right of my menu bar there is a link that says Eyebrowjunkie Cosmetics. I will soon be launching my very own cosmetics line! It has been a long process and it’s still not where I want it to be exactly but I feel ready to begin this new business adventure and share it with you all. I will of course be adding and changing things as I go because this is still in the beginning phases but it’s TIME! :) With the work that I have been doing with Le Rouge Mag and my Weddings, I have had the opportunity to use my line for all my makeup needs and i’m loving all the future possibilities! I hope that if any of my readers ever decide to purchase from me that they love it as much as I do!

I recently did a Eyebrowjunkie Cosmetics photoshoot and I couldn’t have had a better model to show off my makeup. Nicole is beyond beautiful!

It's been awhile since i've posted. Mainly b/c i've been so busy. I've teamed up with my dear friend Yaira on her new magazine, Le Rouge Mag as beauty editor. Go check it out! Here's the link to our first issue.

Playboy Girls of the SEC

This past friday, I received a call from a producer with PLAYBOY asking me to be the makeup artist for them for part of their Girls of the SEC tour where they pick girls from all the SEC schools to put in their magazine. I'm South Carolina, Home of the Gamecocks so I had the honor of doing 4 different girls that they selected out of hundreds that showed up!

This is the only picture that I have to post because the magazine won't come out until October. I took this with my phone. I am so thrilled to have had this opportunity to have my work published in such a big magazine!

The pictures were stunning and photographed so tastefully! I can't wait to atleast be able to post some clothed photos in months to come!

The Make-up Shake-up Part 2

And we are back for part two of our make-up experiment with the fabulous Jamie Floyd. I wish I could hire her everyday to doll me up, but alas. If you haven’t already taken a look at part 1 of this post, you can catch up here .
One other note before you go any further. If I had known I would look this bad for Don’t #2, I would have hired a model. Don’t judge just learn!
Don’t # 2
This one is for our brides who aren’t afraid of makeup. DON’T go overboard, this is the other end of the spectrum ladies. Unless you want to look like a cousin of the wicked witch of the west, don’t do the following

Here I am wearing heavy eyeliner. Not only is it heavy but it was applied (at great pains to Jamie) without precision. The funny thing is, bridal makeup does not simply mean to add more. Refinement is the name of the game. Another part of this don’t is the obvious loud gold color all the way up to my eyebrow. Just don’t do it. It is ok to wear gold, in moderation. Now granted everyone is different, this is just an example that such a loud color may not be a good selection to have in your makeup bag the day of the wedding. Make sure to blend your eye makeup. Blending is the key to insuring your makeup looks awesome.
And finally….
Do # 2
DO GO GLAM! It’s your big day and you know what they say. Go big or go home. For this makeup look, we have foundation with blush and powder followed by a purple smoky eye, black liner, and corner lashes.

What else can we say? A job well done to Jamie. It not just about looking beautiful, but feeling like a rock star. I felt so good, I ran and put my own wedding gown on and had a photo shoot right on the spot. Scroll down below to see the photos from my session! Thanks again to Jamie.

The Make-up Shake-up Part 1

Here is the 1st part of the Bridal’s Do’s and Don’ts that I did with Joshua Aaron Photography! Aaron is such a great writer and really has done such an awesome job! I really don’t have much else to say because well…she said it all for me! Head on over to their blog to check them out! And in the mean time, if you are bride to be…read this!
“Alright brides to be. Coming not only from a photographer’s perspective, but a makeup artist and a former bride, we need to talk make-up. Let’s be honest. It is probably not the first thing on your list of things to plan, and that’s ok, as long as it is on there somewhere. There are so many aspects of a wedding that you plan right down to the weight of cardstock you will be using for the programs. One thing you should definitely plan is your makeup.
And that is why we are going to talk about bridal makeup. Joining me in this blog overview will be Jamie Floyd. A local professional makeup artist who is truly a master of her craft. Jamie and I both agree that bridal makeup needs to be a topic of discussion. In this post we are going to showcase the do’s and the don’ts of bridal makeup.
To start as a reference, here is a picture of me with my everyday makeup on. Nothing fancy, simply what I could get on my face before Caroline our 2 year old daughter woke up from her nap.

"My everyday look"
Now that you have a reference of what I normally look like, we can get into the do’s and don’ts.
Don’t #1
Don’t be afraid to wear some color! Even if you aren’t ready to go full lashes and red lips, you still need to put some color on that mug. Here you can see I am wearing very little makeup which makes me look washed out. You want to look your best right? Well, then buck up and put on your rouge. This doesn’t mean pile on the foundation and blush, but you need to add some color which will in turn add depth and contrast to your skin allowing us to more easily photograph your gorgeous features. Remember, the makeup is there to enhance you, not turn you into some Tammy Faye Baker wanna-be. In this photo I am wearing concealer, powder, very neutral shades of eye shadow with very little in the crease of my eye. On my lips? Just some light colored gloss. Now, there is nothing “wrong” with my makeup. But there is nothing really right either. This is YOUR day, so don’t be timid towards color. After all, 18 percent of the word is gray already…make yourself pop!

Don't try to be too "Natural"
The biggest problem with look number one is that while you may look just fine in person, you will look flat in your pictures.
Do #1
Do go for the natural look if that is what you are comfortable with. Do use color, and do for the love of Starbucks put on mascara and eyeliner. Here I am still wearing light powder and concealer, but this time Jamie has added a natural pink blush to give me contrast in my cheeks and violà! I have high cheekbones again! Another thing that has been added is a nice contouring color in the crease of my eyelid. In addition to the flattering eye shadow is a very neutral brown liner along with mascara and lip color. Let me just say, I am NOT a lip stick kind of girl. I very rarely even wear gloss, but Jamie has done a great job on my lip color.

The Natural Bride
So for the bride who is looking for the natural but glamorous look, go this route instead of the minimalist “don’t” of number one.

Hey Ya'll! I decided to change my blog name to match my URL. Most people that know me, know that i'm OBSESSED with eyebrows anyways so I felt it suited me! Plus you know i've been wanting to change my name for awhile! I also re-designed my blog as well...felt it was time and I was honestly tired of the "oh-so-cutesty," look! Along with this new name comes me not neglecting my blog so much! I've decided to try the whole tutorial thing. I was given the most incredible opportunity to do Julissa’s makeup tonight for BET’s 10th Anniversary show for 106 & Park! Talk about nervous! Turns out there wasn’t any reason at all! Julissa is the most down to earth girl! She talks to you like you are just another girlfriend! I loved working with her! Things were so hectic so I was only able to get one picture from my phone. I loved being behind the scenes and definitely want to do it again! Thanks to the special friend that gave me this gig…it truly was such an amazing experience!

Amanda’s Wedding

I had the honor of doing Amanda’s makeup for her wedding today. Not only is this girl gorgeous but she has the personality to go with it! She had me laughing more than actually doing makeup! I took some pictures of her before she put her dress on and hope I can get some later from the photographer in her dress! It was beautiful!

Colors Used: All MAC unless stated otherwise

Eyes

I primed the eye with Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and then applied soft ochre Paint pot on the lid.

Lid: Melon Pigment

Crease: Bronze e/s throughout the entire crease and Nehru e/s in the outer crease blended inward on the lid.

Highlight: Shroom e/s

Liner: Blacktrack fluidline on top and Smoulder on bottom lash line.

I smudged bronze e/s into the smoulder underneath and also added a little Melon pigment on the bottom in the inner corner.

Cheeks: I actually used a LE product from a few years back when MAC launched their spray foundation and blush. I used the Peach Spritz in Studio Mist blush. Amanda’s skin is so flawless that it’s almost unreal. I really only used a little concealer and bronzer to even her out a bit.

Lips: Cremola Creme liner, Mac Viva Glam V lipstick and Love Nectar Lustreglass.

Zuca What?

I finally felt it was time to get a new makeup case seeing as carrying my two M.A.C. train cases along with other things was getting to be WAY too much for me to handle!

After lots of research, I decided on the “Zuca for MAC Bag.”

Let me just say that I LOVE it! It holds ALL my stuff and then some which is ALOT! It has a handle that pops up so I can just pull it and the top also acts as a seat which is so convenient!

Like a big dummy, I need to depot my shadows b/c back when I worked at MAC, I didn’t have access to pallets since I worked at a counter, and I just never ordered in Pallet form! So I have that on my agenda over the next 3 weeks b/c then I can not only be more organized, I will actually be able to find things and stack them up neatly! It will probably clear up an extra bag as well for more space…maybe skin care stuff!

Excuse my dirty brushes! I had literally just finished a job when I took this picture! I don’t leave them in there dirty like that! But the other cool thing is that this bag has a pockets on the side, so I can fold up my brush belt and stick it right in the side!

I sold one of my M.A.C. train cases and have decided to keep the other for now! It looks like this.

If I decide to sell this one, I will post on here for 1st dibs!!!

Yesterday was my first day getting to use my new case and it made getting around SOOOO much easier! I’m so glad that I decided to make this purchase! It’s definately an investment!

Ashley’s Wedding

I had the honor of doing Ashley’s makeup for her wedding a week ago! I just love this girl! She is super sweet and laid back and it just made for a really awesome experience!

She came over the Monday before her wedding b/c she lives out of town so that we could do her trial run.

I don’t really like to post trial pics because sometimes I don’t always feel like the makeup isn’t at it’s best since we are figuring things out BUT I really loved her eyes and so did she!

I am still waiting on the pictures from her photographer seeing as it’s only been a week but I am posting a picture that her sister took once she was in her dress!

I did the makeup for my co-worker’s daughter today for Prom and love the way it turned out! Tori is such a pretty girl! I think she resembles Heather Graham!

I love that she wasn’t afraid of color! Lately it seems everything I do is “natural,” which isn’t bad but I jump at the chance of being able to put on a little bit of color!

I was scheduled to do a wedding this past saturday. The Bride was going to have me do her makeup, her Mom's and then cover up 5 tattoos. I usually require a trial run prior to the wedding day so that it gives me a chance to meet my bride and figure out what she likes etc.. Well she was scheduled for Monday but called and cancelled and said that she wouldn't be able to make it any other days this week but that she trusted me. I didn't like that but really didn't have a choice since she booked me at such short notice. I called her friday night to confirm our time and she said 12:00. Her wedding was scheduled to start at 4:00 but they were going to take pictures after the ceremony. So that should give me enough time right?!

Well Saturday morning rolls around...I'm getting ready...packing my kit up when she calls me at 11:00 saying they were running behind and if it would be ok for me to come at 1:30 instead. Did I really have a choice...it would definately make me crunched for time but it was possible. So I arrive at the hotel only for her to call me in the parking lot and tell me that she still wasn't there but that her Mom was here so I could atleast get started on her. OK no prob. She give me her room#, I unload (which is alot of stuff I might add!) and get up to her room! Not only is her Mom not there, but the maids are in the room CLEANING IT!!!! I call her and quickly let her know that her Mom is no where to be found...she says..."Hold on, i'll call her and call you right back." A few minutes later she calls and get this...Her Mom is on her way back from CHARLOTTE, NC!!! What?! Apparently she had to go pick her brother up from the Airport!!! So i'm thinking this is really crazy!!! The hotel manager even came up the room saying that it wasn't even registered to anyone!!! STUNNED! I then asked her what time I should expect her here and she says 3:00!!!! COME AGAIN???? She apologizes profusely saying that she will understand if I can only do her makeup and cover up her 2 tattoos! DID I MENTION HER WEDDING WAS SCHEDULED FOR 4:00??!!!!!! She had the nerve to ask me if I had anything to do until she gets there!!! Um...NO! I wanted to say that she has WASTED MY ENTIRE AFTERNOON! So I drive back home which is 25 minutes away! I call her and she doesn't answer so I leave her a text saying that she needs to call me atleast 30 mins enroute because i'm not leaving my house again until I know for a fact that she is on the way! I also told her that she would be late to her wedding if I did everything that she was wanting AND that she would need to pay me $$ for my wasted time and mileage! She never responded. I gave her until 3:00 to call me or else I was going to do some things that I had already planned for the afternoon that had already been pushed back because of her lack of organization!!!

3:00 rolls around and nothing...so even though I hestitated to go do other things, I did because at this point, I was beyond pissed! Can you believe that this girl didn't call me until 3:30!!! I didn't have my phone nearby so I didn't see that she called. I saw at around 3:45 that I had 7 missed calls and one text from her asking if I decided not to come back! You bet I decided not to come back! I kept it very professional but let her know that unfortunately, I didn't appreciate her wasting my entire afternoon and that I take my business and time VERY seriously! This girl had the nerve to write me back saying.."Jamie, seriously? Yes we were running behind but what wedding ever starts on time? That's ok...you ONLY do makeup!" I thought of several nasty remarks to that text but again kept it classy and just told her that "Yes I am a makeup artist and a good one...it's unfortunate that this didn't work out today! I wish you the best of luck!"

I'm still shocked...this is something that has NEVER happened to me!! I am not the type of Makeup artist to not show up! I am always on time when I work and pride myself on my professionalism! Since my freelance business has really just started taking off, I haven't used a contract but you bet I have one made up already and being used starting now with all my other clients! I will never allow this to happen to me again!

So here's the deal...i'm beginning to hate my blog/business name of "Diary of the makeup obsessed!" For a blog, it's not so bad BUT since my freelance business is really starting to take off, I want to change it to something shorter, original, alittle more professional, still catchy and maybe include my name Jamie or 1st initial.

Here's where you all come in...I am going to throw a contest/giveaway to the winner who's name I like best! I just haven't decided what the prize will be but of course it is going to be makeup related! I will close this contest on March 30th. M.A.C. has NEW Matte colors….

That are here to stay! Yes they are permanent!!!! They didn’t launch them in a collection so many people might not even know about them. I freelanced yesterday at MAC and we decided to wear some of the new colors to let our customers know that they are here! Not only are they Matte, with the exception of one, but they are bright and beautiful! I’ve felt like MAC has needed to come out with some bright colors that aren’t just limited for quite some time now and finally they have! Here is the look I had on yesterday.

Now for what I have on my eyes!

Lid: Free to be! My favorite actually—it’s similar to Sushi flower but the color payoff is 100 times better! Meaning you can actually see it! :)

Crease: Red Brick—the orange-ish color…it’s very similar to MAC Pro’s “Orange” eye shadow but slightly more red! Just Gorgeous!

Blended into the crease above the Red Brick, I have Golden Rod—similar to Chrome Yellow but not as bright…It’s a happy medium for people that want a yellow eye shadow but maybe think that Chrome Yellow is too bright!

Inner Crease—the purple is Vibrant Grape---what used to be a limited color is now permanent! One of my favorite purples!!!

Since everything was so matte, I decided to use Vanilla as my highlight.

I lined the top with BlackTrack Fluidline and lined the bottom with Violet Underground eye kohl (LE) pencil and blended Vibrant Grape with it.

Lips

On my lips, I used Smooth berry creme stick liner which is LE. I used Hue lipstick and Baby Sparks Dazzleglass.

Some of the other new colors are, Sunny Spot, Suave Intentions, and Lucky Green.

Little Miss 4th Grade…

I had the honor of doing my niece’s makeup saturday for a pageant at her elementary school. Morgan has always been a little tomboy so it surprised my sister when she came home asking to enter. My sister is a hairstylist so she did an amazing job on her hair and then I just made her up. Aubrey requested that I go all out so that’s what I did. After all, I did want her to win right?!

New Look!!!

So Zoe over at Chic & Sassy designed my new blog look! She doesn't do much custom work but does alot of Pre-made designs that are so awesome! What I like most about her designs is that once she sells it, she retires it so no one else has the same look! She seems to get a TON of requests for makeup designs and I have seen several that really caught my eye but they were already sold so i've been waiting for the right moment and right design before changing my old look! Don't get me wrong, I liked my old design, I was just ready for something completely different then what I had. And I love it! Don't forget to add my new button on your blogs! Thanks again Zoe!

I did my friend Mary Beth’s makeup today for her upcoming 10 year reunion of being her high schools very 1st Beauty Queen! She really liked the makeup that I did for my bride Kelly so I used the same colors except I didn’t do pink in her crease. Instead I used a warmer color to really make her eyes pop. I have had several emails about the colors I used on Kelly so I will list them at the end of this post.

Darra Dane’s Wedding

I also did the makeup for Darra Dane’s wedding this past saturday. I met her through Elly, a previous customer of mine! I actually did her makeup once before but as Elly’s bridesmaid. I was honored when she called me up to ask if I could do her makeup for her big day! Darra Dane was married at the Lace House at the Governor’s Mansion and it was stunning! I wish I could have seen her in her wedding dress but I had to leave to go do Kelly’s makeup. I know she looked beautiful though! I can’t wait to get pictures from the photographer!

Gold & Brown eyes

Today I freelanced at MAC and since it’s been awhile, I always like to check MAC’s website to see what the current looks are so that I am prepared to match whatever collection it is that they are selling at the time. Since it’s Holiday season, I knew there would be some really pretty looks. My inspiration was this look…Click Here!

Of course this is just my interpretation since I don’t have all of the colors.

Eyes:

For the gold, I actually packed on chrome yellow and then put alittle bit of Woodwinked on top. Made an awesome gold-ish yellow…I probably could have used Goldmine but it wouldn’t have turned out as bright. It was actually brighter in person. I then mulch on the rest of my lid and then used Nehru in my crease. As my highlight, I used Ricepaper. And of course, I lined with graphblack fluidline. Underneath, I lined with Smoulder and then used my #219 brush to smudge mulch into my lower lash line.

Cheeks:

I used Tenderling blush and alittle bit of Trace Gold to contour my cheeks. And

Lips:

Whirl lipliner, Viva Glam V and then Love Nectar Lustreglass.

Kelly’s Wedding

I did Kelly’s makeup this morning for her wedding! I can’t wait to see her pictures!!! One of my favorite Photographers, Kathy is taking them so to know that I have to wait a few weeks..well let’s just say the anticipation is KILLING me! I’m kind of slack when it comes to posting what colors I used on clients and I shouldn’t be! After posting Lindy’s halloween pics last night, I have received several emails asking what colors I used so here they are. I promise to do better in the future! :)

Lid: Whistle eyeshadow from Barbie loves MAC collection

Crease: Playful eyeshadow from Barbie loves MAC collection (the bright pink), Twinks eyeshadow which runs through entire crease and suspicion eyeshadow blended into the outer corner.

Brow Bone: Photo Realism from the Makeup art Cosmetics collection quad Photo Realism. **I can’t get enough of this gold!!! **

I lined her eyes with Blacktrack Fluidline on top and then lined her inner waterline with Fascinating eye kohl. I then took my #219 brush and smudged the Twinks eyeshadow underneath to complete her smoky look. I also used the Photo realism in her inner corner to highlight her eyes.

Face:

Studio Fix Fluid for her foundation, Select cover-up as her concealer and then lightly dusted a Mineralized skin finish Natural to finish her off.

Cheeks: I used Dollymix powder blush

The makeup is actually different in her Bridal Portraits then in her wedding photos. We went for more gold’s and a little more drama for the Bridal’s and kept it a little more natural for her wedding day! I am so pleased with how they both turned out!!!

Now about Rachel…I just love this girl! She has been the sweetest and most patient through all of this! On the day of her wedding she was so relaxed it was almost scary! She tried to tell me that she is normally really high-strung and if that’s true, you would not have ever been able to tell. She told me that the bridal portrait pictures turned out amazing so I just can’t wait to see them!!!

*****Confession Alert*****

I got alittle photoshop happy on my face. I recently figured out how to do some things and desperately needed to remove a pimple that was on my chin that not even makeup could get rid of it because it was SO BIG! So I airbrushed myself alittle…just around my nose and chin area. I even removed some moles just for the fun of it! BUT my eyes, cheeks and lips are real!!! No touch up was done in any of those places!!!

So this past saturday, I did the makeup for my friend Alicia who is a photographer so that we could take some head shots to put on her photography blog. I was thrilled when she asked me to do her makeup but nervous to know I was also the one taking the pictures! I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out! Not too bad for my first time behind a professional camera!!!

Does she not have the prettiest eyes!!! And you ought to see her skin in person! It’s flawless!!!

Boots No7 Instant Radiance Concealer

I actually found this product through reading another makeup blog. I have been on the hunt for a good under eye concealer and highlighter so I figured I would give it a try! Man do I LOVE it!!! It’s great for hiding dark circles, shadows and highlighting under the eyes! It is NEVER cakey and always dries down quickly so it doesn’t smudge when putting on your foundation or powder. It’s not great at covering up blemishes though!

What I love about it, is I can put it on before my foundation to hide my dark circles and then after my foundation to act as a highlighter as well!

When applying, I always give it 2-3 clicks and rub stripes under my eyes, down the sides of my nose and even my chin and forehead. I use a brush but you can use your fingers as well to blend it in and conceal!

All in all, it’s safe to say that this product “WORKS FOR ME!”

I recently received a negative comment about my “Works for me Wednesday” for my eyebrow pencil! This girl didn’t understand why I would draw my eyebrows in instead of just not plucking them anymore! Well here’s alittle story! When I was in the 10th grade, my eyebrows were so bushy! My sister used to make fun of me and so one day I went home and plucked them all! Since then, they don’t grow! So I fill them in to how I LIKE THEM! So when I do my post on “What works for me,” that’s exactly what it is…something that works for ME! If you like yours brows naturally, then good for you! I wish I didn’t have to fill mine in but unfortunately I do. We are all entitled to our own opinion but please do not leave nasty comments here! If you don’t like my blog then don’t read it!

Yes fluidline…in Rich Ground to be exact b/c it was the perfect shade to match my hair! But I always go back to MAC’s skinny little eye brow pencil! For the LONGEST time I used MAC’s wipes to remove my makeup but after awhile they really started to irritate my skin. I panicked at first because I have always HATED eye makeup removers that are oily and leave that nasty residue behind. One day a co-worker told me about these and she just raved about how good they were! She was right!! I’m officially hooked! They are sooo gentle on my skin, remove EVERY inch of makeup with just one wipe which can be A LOT at times! They smell great and leave my skin feeling so soft afterwards! I could go on and on really!

So if you aren’t happy with what you are currently using, go out and buy you some of these! They are awesome!!!!

Tia came to me yesterday while I was freelancing at MAC and asked me to do her makeup for her boyfriend’s birthday party! Of course I had to make her boyfriend feel special by making her the prettiest girl at the party! It didn’t take much though because she’s already gorgeous! I love her hair too! She actually has bangs but I had her push them to the side for her pics so that you could see her eyes. I decided that with her skin tone, green would look awesome on her and I was right! I used the new Photo Realism palette x 4 and added Saddle eyeshadow to warm her up along with Nehru eyeshadow to smoke her out! I also used the new lashes #45 that came out with MAC’s Flirt with Fall collection! All of the lashes in this collection are just amazing! After all of this, I think it turned out Smokin Hot!!!!

Thanks girl! Hope you had fun!!!! And Happy Birthday to that boyfriend of yours!!!!

This week’s WFMW is Smashbox’s Photo Finish Foundation Primer.

I have tried lots of primers and have had alot of success but what makes this one different and better than the rest is that not only does it make the foundation glide on your skin, it photographs BEAUTIFULLY! I noticed this the past few makeup jobs I have done because I have used this instead of the other stuff I had been using and it literally makes your skin glow! It honestly took me a long time to give in and try it because it is pretty expensive but it not only lasts a long time, it is well worth the money you spend on it!

ChriShaun came over tonight for me to help her cover up a scar that she has on her arm. Of course there was no way I could let her leave before doing her makeup!!! She has the prettiest face and Her eyes are ridiculously beautiful! I could seriously do her makeup every day!!! She wanted me to do a neutral smoky eye so I happily obliged! Thanks girl!!!! I had fun! :)

When I say that I use Fix + everyday, that is an understatement! This stuff rocks my world! It’s a hydrating mist that also finishes your makeup once you apply it! I like to spray a little over moisturizer to prime the skin and then spray it again once I have completed the makeup application! I especially like to carry a bottle in my purse during the summer as a way to give my skin that extra BOOST that I know it needs! And with the heat and humidity in SC, I definately need it!!!

Fix +

An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!

Carla’s Wedding

I did Carla’s wedding on July 4th and it was soooo beautiful! Everything about her wedding was so laid back and summery! Because of that, we went for a bronzed out look and I love how it turned out! I did Carla’s makeup, her two bridesmaids and her Mom! They were all such a joy to work with! And I can’t leave out the photographer Kathy Moore! She is so AWESOME! I love her style and how she can just capture “THE MOMENT!” She was sweet enough to send me ALOT of pictures! Some that don’t even showcase the makeup but that I just couldn’t resist showing off her work! I highly recommend her if you are in the Columbia Area!

Ok ok…I know today is Thursday, BUT I had to work late last night and was too tired to do this last night so i’m a day late! Instead of doing the “What works for me” once a month, i’m going to do it every wednesday and join in on this blog carnival! Along with doing that, i’ll still be posting the product on the side of my blog to stay up there for the entire week! I may even throw in some tips on how to use that product!! :)

So…this week’s WWFM is…MAC’S Dazzlelash Mascara

It’s the newest mascara that they have come out with and i’ll be honest, I was even a bit skeptical when trying it! Mainly b/c I am sooo picky when it comes to mascara! I have short, thin lashes and I need something that lengthens, thickens and curls and this does it ALL and then some!!! It actually defines my lashes more than any other mascara that I have tried! The brush is the perfect size for someone with my type of lashes! It’s extremely buildable and leaves the perfect finish! I am simply in love with this product!!! I even tested it out along side MAC’s Zoomlash on a customer the other day and while the zoomlash did lengthen the lashes, the dazzlelash not only lengthened but defined them in a noticeable way! The customer could even tell the difference! She totally went for the dazzlelash!

So if you are looking for a new mascara b/c you aren’t happy with yours, I recommend heading on down to the MAC counter TODAY and getting you some of this!!!

You will NOT regret it!!!

Urban Decay's Primer Potion

I was first turned on to this stuff by a friend a few year's ago and I have yet to look back! I have very oily eyelids and this stuff makes my eyeshadow last ALL day!!! No lie! I even like to put some MAC Painterly paint pot on top just to give it extra staying power! I am a firm believer that there is nothing else out there quite like this stuff!!!

I had the opportunity to do the makeup for Lauren and her wedding party back in March. She was such a pleasure to work with as were the rest of the girls. I only had 1 1/2 hours to complete all 7 so I called in my friend Heather for some backup! I’m fast but not THAT fast! :) I ended up doing Lauren, the bride, 2 bridesmaids and then Lauren’s Mom. I will be posting pictures of the girls I did. Lauren requested a very simple clean look. Her main goal was to look like herself but just a little more polished. I love how the makeup turned out! She looks stunning!

This wedding is one of my favorites! Elly is not only beautiful but one of the sweetest people I have ever met! She and I met through a hairdresser friend of mine and soon found out that we had friends in common! Everything with her was so relaxed and stress free! She was married at her parent's house which is absolutely breathtaking! She couldn't have picked a better location! I did 8 of the bridesmaids and both of the Mother's but there weren't any good closeups of all the other girls.

I emailed the photographer Michael F. Koska, III for some pictures and they were nice enough to mail me the CD of a few of my favorites! They are pretty big around town and do such amazing work! Check them out if you ever are looking for a good photographer!

Didn't think to get one of the two of them smiling at the camera! I just loved this one and it distracted me away from all the others! They look SO in love!

Hina's wedding was SO amazing! It was really neat to be able to see Indian Culture first hand! And all the Saree's were STUNNING! Indian weddings are 3 days long and so I did Hina's makeup 4 times. I wish some of the pictures showed her makeup better but these were the best ones from the photographer.

One of my co-workers at the time referred her to me and I was so nervous but so dang proud after I did such a bangin job! Say what you want but tattoo cover up is not that easy!
